Woman dumps husband of 6 years after discovering he was having an affair with her mum

Discovering your partner has been cheating on you is often a traumatic experience.

But Australian mum Tanya, 27, revealed the horror of finding out her husband of six years had been cheating on her with her own mum.

The heartbroken woman phoned into the Group Therapy segment on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Monday.

Tanya, who has a six-year-old daughter with her unfaithful ex-partner, asked for advice after the marriage broke down a few weeks ago.

She admitted the radio hosts: “It kind of messed me up.”

Tanya first got her suspicions when she realised her “prince charming” partner, who she married six years ago before falling pregnant, kept disappearing a lot.

When the horrific truth was revealed, Tanya confronted her mum.

She said:

“She basically got all defensive, blamed everything on him. Called me a lot of names. She didn’t answer the question.

“My family confirmed it and my gut instinct. As soon as I confronted both of them, they blamed each other, they were all defensive, so many red flags and I just couldn’t take it anymore.”

Tanya told the hosts how the rest of the family found out about the cheating.

She said: “My mum was telling them about it, she told them it was all him.”

The distraught woman said she wasn’t sure how long it had gone on for, and that she thought she had a close relationship with her mum.

The plot thickened when Tanya said it wasn’t the first time her husband had cheated, and he had previously slept with one of her old friends.

At the time she had confided in her mum for support.

Tanya had remained with her husband at the time, but ended the marriage after he had an affair with her mum.

She said: “I left him a week ago. I just couldn’t take it anymore. It was a build-up. I was naive and trusting.”
